At St Mary’s, pupils engage in a carefully sequenced programme of PE that encourages fitness, improves strength, develops confidence, teaches the rules of games and promotes team spirit. P.E. is an integral part of our school curriculum and it is taught twice a week with opportunities for both outdoor and indoor sessions throughout the year.
We aim for all children to develop their physical ability through mastering basic movements and developing their balance, agility and co-ordination. We aim for all children to be able to be physically active for sustained periods of time and lead healthy, active lives.
We work closely with outside agencies to provide the children with engaging physical activities and all children are provided with the opportunity to take part in competitions.
